Functional Movements Challenge


Functional fitness are movements based on daily situations and natural movement patterns which place a high demand on your body's core strength and major muscle groups. It's important to exercise these muscles to avoid injury, strengthen your body, and emphasize stability. The purpose of this challenge is to introduce you to common functional movements found in the fitness world that transfer to everyday life. This a challenge designed for beginners. However, intermediate and advanced exercisers are encouraged to participate and modify or add the movements into their workouts however they'd like. For the month of October we challenge you to practice different functional movement (which will be provided weekly) at least 15 times throughout the month to earn 15 points.

When: October 1- October 31 (Sign up by October 5)

What: Practice functional movements at least 15 times throughout the month to earn 15 points

How to Participate:

  • Sign-up here

  • Using the Activity Tracker (provided after sign-up), give yourself one point for every day you practice a functional movement

  • Send your Tracker to by the end of October (November 3 deadline). 

Point Value: 15 points for 15 days
