Farmers Market Unhatched

This was a student intern project in 2017.

The Madison County Farmers Market comes to the EKU Campus every Thursday during growing season.

Talk to the Farmers

The growers know the ins and outs of their food better than anyone else. Our farmers are proud to discuss their products and have some great tips on how best to prepare their specialty items. If you aren’t sure how to cook a certain vegetable, ask if they have any tips or favorite recipes.

Meet a Madison County Farmers Market Vendor

Bethany Harmon from Woods Creek Farm in Richmond, KY
(Pictured here with Stacy Frost, friend and helper at the farm and markets)

Bethany has been raising chickens since she was 9 years old. Her family had raised them and she took it over and started selling eggs to neighbors and friends. She has 100 chickens and classifies herself as a chicken farmer.
She thinks chickens are interesting creatures and it is neat to have your own farm fresh eggs. She loves to watch the chickens in the sunset just pecking away at the grass.
