Less Screentime, Get Active (Part Two)


Summer is a great time for children to increase their physical activity since they are out of school - and we can join them.

Did you know? Being active has a multitude of benefits – physically, mentally and socially.

Some exercise benefits for childen:

  • Develops coordination and basic motor skills
  • Builds muscle and bone strength, cardiovascular endurance and flexibility
  • Reduces risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease
  • Builds confidence and sense of self-worth

Encourage your children to have some sort of physical activty for at least one hour per day. Set an example by making play and exercise a priority for yourself this summer!
