Cara hopes to expand the social media and communication aspect of the employee wellness program here at EKU. Cara plans to keep employees up to date on our latest activity events through EKU social media pages and our wellness page.
Q & A with the Interns
Which Healthy YOU! program or event are you most excited for this upcoming semester?
Jessica: Aside from the Couch to 5K program I plan on implementing, I am most excited for the Cooking Club program. I feel like in the fast pace society we live in, a lot of people struggle to make quick healthy choices when it comes to their meals, so this program is very benefical to many employees.
Cara: I am most looking forward to the upcoming Health Fair! As a Public Health major I feel like this type of an event is beneficial in reaching out to employees, and gives them more information about the Healthy YOU! program as well as other resources in the area and on campus.
What is your favorite fitness activity?
Jessica: I enjoy lifting at the Campus Rec, as well as playing volleyball.
Cara: I enjoy attending the fitness classes offered at the Campus Rec with friends.
What do you like most about the Healthy YOU! program?
Jessica: I like that it provides employees with incentives to engage in more physical activity and to live a healthier lifestyle, which keeps the employee motivated and on track.
Cara: I like how easy the program is to follow, and how it brings EKU employees together. Therefore creating a supportive atmosphere where fellow employees encourage each other to live a healthier lifestyle.
