Vaccines: Some Facts
Vaccines provide immunity to particular infectious diseases. The COVID-19 vaccine is currently trending in the United States with differing opinions on whether or not to receive the vaccine. The two available vaccines are Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech.

- Effectiveness: 95%
To ensure the safety of this specific vaccine, millions of people have received this vaccine. COVID-19 vaccines were evaluated in tens of thousands of participants in clinical trials to approve effectiveness. There are reassuring results in which people have experienced zero side effects. However, some people reported having mild side effects such as pain at the injection site, mild fever, headache, and chills. With any vaccine, there will always be common side effects.
Helpful Tips after Receiving Vaccine
1. To reduce the pain in the affected arm
- Apply a washcloth
- Exercise your arm
2. To reduce discomfort
- Drink fluids
- Dress comfortable
