"Maintaining a healthy lifestyle can sometimes be difficult when life comes your way. Whether it be a work-life balance, children (do dogs count?), a lack of motivation, etc. it's important to understand that when wanting to change your life or get back into routine motivation doesn't come before action. You have to act, then motivation will follow. If you don't feel like going to the gym, go anyway. If you don't feel like eating healthy, do it anyway. That sounds simple on the surface, but it's actually pretty difficult. But when you do it anyway...when you get up even if you feel tired, when you eat healthy even when you're craving the unhealthy, you set your self up for success later on. You build up your resilience and motivation. In the future you won't even have to worry about whether you "feel" like it or not. It'll be second-nature! Secondly, you have to fail. What? Yes, you have to fail. Failure is a part of success and when you give yourself room to fail and you don't beat yourself up, it (again) creates resilience and a positive attitude toward whatever goal you're trying to maintain. So, to maintain my wellness I "do it anyway" and I realize failure is okay."

"I don't think that I have ever had a PCP, and I probably still wouldn't if we didn't get a little incentive to do that."
